Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gnarls Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juliano Werdum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gnarls Ford has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gnarls Ford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juliano Werdum! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Werdum ducks under a wild hook from Ford. Ford scores with a crisp jab that stopped Werdum in his tracks. Excellent takedown into side control there by Werdum. Werdum moves into full mount! Ford trying desperately to get to his feet.
Ford knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Werdum on the ground. Ford tries to reverse the position but Werdum maintains control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Werdum tries to control but Ford wriggling away. Werdum unloads with some shots from mount but Ford bucks and avoids them well.
Ford's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Ford is squirming around, avoiding Werdum's attempts to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ford keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Werdum throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Ford is in all sorts of trouble here.
Ford avoids a series of strikes thrown by Werdum.
Ford tries to reverse the position but Werdum maintains control. Ford is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Werdum with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Ford wants to control but Werdum is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ford is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Werdum sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Ford is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Ford tries to lock up and control but Werdum gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Ford really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Poor strikes thrown by Werdum there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Werdum content just to control the position here. Ford squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ford is wriggling around trying to escape.
Werdum trying to control but Ford is having none of it. Ford sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Werdum perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Ford wants to stand back up but Werdum manages to pass into side control.
Ford prevents Werdum from improving position. Ford tries to bench press Werdum off him but Werdum keeps the position. Ford on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ford tries to get out of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Werdum stands up. Werdum slips a jab from Ford. Werdum with a poor takedown and Ford counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ford lands with an uppercut that bounces Werdum off the cage and back into range. Ford lands with a nice body punch. Ford jabs at Werdum's body. Gnarls Ford is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ford connects with a body shot that sends Werdum's belly button to the back. We've been told by Ford's head coaches at Julius Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. This has been an exciting period of action! Werdum with a lazy takedown attempt and Ford counters with a straight right hand. Werdum throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Werdum looks winded! Ford cracks Werdum with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Ford displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gnarls Ford will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Ford drops Werdum with a beautiful combination! Werdum stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ford is looking for the KO! Ford is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Werdum like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Werdum from another fist facial!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gnarls Ford!
