Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between William Blake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blake comes to the cage accompanied by Dead Man. Monroe comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Deep Ocean - Island drumming kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, William Blake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricky Monroe! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monroe shoots in and drives through. Blake sprawls well. Blake lands the left hand. A solid leg kick lands there for Blake.
Jab by Blake. Blake scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Monroe takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Monroe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Blake is trying to improve his position. This has been an exciting period of action! Monroe has control of an arm but Blake manages to advance to Monroe's back! Monroe is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Blake off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Blake scores with strikes from the back.
Blake looking for the RNC. Monroe is really stuck here.
Blake has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Monroe has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
That's one minute gone in the round. Monroe trying to control the position but Blake manages to sink in the hooks. Blake lands shots from the back. Monroe staying busy and making it hard for Blake to control. Monroe tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Blake lands with some strikes. Blake breaks from Monroe's wrist control and lands an elbow. Blake has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Monroe's face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A nice elbow there by Blake.
Monroe is rocked! Monroe gets back to half guard. Monroe is still in real trouble! Can Blake finish him? Blake wants to take a breather but Monroe is having none of it. Blake controlling the action here. Monroe seems to have recovered his senses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blake seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Blake is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Monroe defends it well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Monroe looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Monroe actively working from the bottom here. Blake is trying to control. Monroe wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Blake is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Blake prevents Monroe from standing back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blake is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Monroe is just riding it out for now. Blake eventually gives up the hold. Monroe looking for submissions off his back. Blake scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Blake wants to free his trapped foot but Monroe is holding on for dear life with his legs. Blake looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Monroe with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Monroe looking for submissions off his back. Blake lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Blake seems to be looking for submissions.
Monroe with the active half guard here but Blake passes nicely into side control. Monroe is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Monroe keeps trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
William Blake dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Monroe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blake tries to avoid it but Monroe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blake to the ground. Blake escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Blake looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A solid leg kick lands there for Blake.
Monroe is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Blake's half guard. William Blake overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Blake avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Monroe. Blake is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Monroe pulls his head out easily. Blake is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Monroe's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Monroe's back! Blake sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Monroe taps out!
