PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tung Fo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn McLean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLean has chosen I Predict A Riot as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tung Fo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Shawn McLean!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Fo tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and McLean connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fo moves in looking to clinch but McLean pushes him off.
Nice takedown defense from McLean. No joy for Fo on that attempt.
A nice side step and McLean releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
McLean misses the shot to the body.
McLean just misses with a punch to the body.

McLean gets tackled into the cage by Fo. Fo maintains the clinch.

McLean breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fo tries to clinch but fails miserably
and McLean counters with a straight right hand.
Fo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McLean is fending him off so far but Fo persists. Nope, McLean circles away and we're back to standing.
Fo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McLean.
Fo fails with the takedown
and McLean counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tung Fo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McLean swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McLean darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fo clinches up against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

McLean breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fo has a takedown stuffed.
Fo shoots in for a takedown but McLean shows good takedown defense.
Fo shoots in looking for a takedown. McLean tries to sprawl out of it but Fo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McLean manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A countering left hand to the body from McLean misses.
McLean is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Fo rather than just go for the knockout.
McLean ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fo moves away.

Fo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McLean tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fo is in McLean's guard.
McLean has his hands on Fo's head, controlling the position.
Fo looking to pass the guard.

Fo drops back, looking for a kneebar! McLean looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McLean looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McLean!

Fo is looking to reverse the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fo is working hard here to advance position.
Fo's coaches at LOD: Black Label have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Fo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
McLean is trying to control the action in half guard but Fo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
McLean really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McLean prevents Fo from improving his position.

Fo is staying active underneath McLean, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
McLean wants to free his trapped foot but Fo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Fo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fo working for a triangle but McLean defends it easily.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw McLean working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Fo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Fo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McLean doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Fo is tightening it up a little... McLean has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! McLean reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! McLean taps out! Nice BJJ there by Fo!

During a confident post fight interview, Tung Fo thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
