In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Evan Glascoe! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Nikos Giannopoulos!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and Steve Montenegro.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Giannopoulos takes the fight into the clinch.
Giannopoulos looking for a takedown.

Giannopoulos drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Evan Glascoe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nikos Giannopoulos.
Giannopoulos has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Glascoe avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Giannopoulos wants a takedown.

Glascoe has his foot on Giannopoulos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Giannopoulos works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Glascoe not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Glascoe seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Glascoe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Glascoe lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Glascoe wants to control from the top but Giannopoulos keeps moving.

Giannopoulos is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Glascoe rolls with it to try and escape but Giannopoulos cranks on the arm and Glascoe is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nikos Giannopoulos!
A less than humble Nikos Giannopoulos misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
