Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Edmond Mcdowell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Struve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edmond Mcdowell had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Edmond Mcdowell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jim Struve! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Struve has closed the distance and engaged Mcdowell in a clinch.
Mcdowell taking a breather. Struve blocks a body shot from Mcdowell. Mcdowell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Struve throws a sloppy head kick and Mcdowell moves out of range easily. A right-left combo lands from Struve.
It looks like Edmond Mcdowell has been cut. Struve looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mcdowell! Mcdowell sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Mcdowell is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Struve pulls his head out easily. Struve controlling the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mcdowell is positioning himself well to prevent Struve advancing to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Struve is trying to control. Mcdowell wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Struve controlling the action here. Struve wants to control but Mcdowell is keeping him busy. Struve seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Struve thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mcdowell's head. Mcdowell throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Struve shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mcdowell manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Mcdowell is rocked! Struve engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Oh Mcdowell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Mcdowell seems to have got his legs back now. Mcdowell keeping moving, preventing Struve from controlling successfully. Mcdowell has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Struve can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Struve accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mcdowell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Struve defends it easily. Struve passes Mcdowell's left leg - he's now in half guard. Struve tries to pass to full mount but Mcdowell defends it. Struve throwing shots but Mcdowell is blocking nicely. Struve seems to be looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mcdowell is looking to control Struve's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mcdowell avoid being mounted? Mcdowell actively working from the bottom here. Struve is thwarting Mcdowell's attempts to control the position. Struve is looking to advance position but Mcdowell won't allow it. Mcdowell trying to control but Struve postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mcdowell moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Struve wants to control from the top but Mcdowell keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Struve feints and as Mcdowell raises his hands in defense, Struve changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Mcdowell is looking for a triangle but Struve pushes his legs off easily.
Struve stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcdowell swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mcdowell is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mcdowell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Struve doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Struve manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mcdowell punching to the body, from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Edmond Mcdowell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jim Struve is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Struve has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
And that's the end of the fight! Jim Struve comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Struve has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
