The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Lopes finds it's way through Okusaka's defenses.

That was a close round but I would say that Richard Okusaka will probably get the nod.

Okusaka takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Lopes looks up at the clock and then as Okusaka takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lopes smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Lopes decides to stand back up. Lopes steps back and let's Okusaka get back to his feet.

Lopes lands a glancing blow to the side of Okusaka's head.

and Okusaka counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Okusaka.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lopes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

and Okusaka counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lopes won't be happy with that.

Lopes bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Lopes stands up over Okusaka, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
