Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Batts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Papy Abedi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Batts's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Midnight City - By: M83. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Batts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Papy Abedi!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batts misses with a straight right.
Abedi misses with a wild body shot.
Abedi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Batts's waist but Batts gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Abedi off to one side.
Batts throws a hook but Abedi blocks it.
Abedi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Batts.
Batts tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Batts throws a lazy right hand but Abedi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Abedi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Batts tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Abedi is in Batts's guard.
Abedi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Batts wants to sweep here but Abedi controlling him for the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Abedi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Abedi might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Batts haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Batts escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Abedi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We've been hearing that Batts has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Batts has gone for a leg lock! Abedi slips out almost immediately though and dives into Batts's guard.

Batts bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Abedi's guard.

Abedi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Batts is aware though and is defending well.

Batts has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Abedi has momentary wrist control but Batts slips an elbow through the middle.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Abedi walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Batts throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Abedi sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Abedi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Abedi dives in and grabs Batts's left leg, looking for a takedown. Batts pushes down on Abedi's head and hops out.

Peter Batts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Papy Abedi.
Abedi moves out of range of the strikes.
Batts connects with a crisp jab.
Abedi shoots in for a double leg but Batts sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Abedi drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Batts throws a hook but Abedi avoids it easily.
Batts throws a series of punches but Abedi moves out of range.
Batts tries to bum rush Abedi with a series of wild strikes but Abedi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Batts shoots in for a takedown but Abedi shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Batts throws out a powerful jab.

Abedi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Batts quickly recovers to half guard.
Abedi is nestled in close to Batts, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Batts is staying active underneath Abedi, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Batts gets to his feet and stands over Abedi, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Abedi felt that one! Batts unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Abedi from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Peter Batts!
An intense looking Peter Batts took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'I'm here to win fights; and I want the winner of the Kazi/Bud fight coming up here for the second notch in my belt here in Dignity. '.
