Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Les Moore! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Trent Menhadenburnsch! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Menhadenburnsch leaves Moore with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Moore dives in for a single leg takedown but Menhadenburnsch sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Menhadenburnsch is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. A swing and a miss from Moore. Moore uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Menhadenburnsch. Moore punishes Menhadenburnsch's body with a nice straight punch. An inside leg kick from Menhadenburnsch misses. Moore displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Menhadenburnsch throws out the jab. Menhadenburnsch walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Moore drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Moore misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Menhadenburnsch is looking to reverse the position. Menhadenburnsch prevents Moore from improving position. Menhadenburnsch gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Menhadenburnsch won't allow Moore to pass to mount. Moore lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Menhadenburnsch is looking to control Moore's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Menhadenburnsch avoid being mounted? Menhadenburnsch is pressing down on Moore's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Menhadenburnsch wants to sweep here but Moore controlling him for the moment. Moore controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Moore has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Menhadenburnsch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Menhadenburnsch is still trying to improve position. Menhadenburnsch can't keep his opponent in guard - Moore advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Menhadenburnsch taking some punishment here, with Moore in his half guard. Ground and pound from Moore. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Moore wants to take a breather but Menhadenburnsch is having none of it. Menhadenburnsch slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Moore trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Moore lands a couple of digs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Menhadenburnsch bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moore's guard. Menhadenburnsch pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Moore is keeping the position for now. Menhadenburnsch won't allow Moore to sweep him here. Moore manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Menhadenburnsch manages to get himself to full guard.
Menhadenburnsch is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Menhadenburnsch looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Moore with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ground and pound from Menhadenburnsch. Menhadenburnsch is looking to take a break and control but Moore is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moore wants to improve his position but Menhadenburnsch is controlling well.
Moore slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Moore is trying to control the position but Menhadenburnsch postures up. Moore looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Menhadenburnsch landing with the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Moore looking to sweep here. No luck so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Les Moore dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Moore works the jab nicely. Moore shoots in and drives through. Menhadenburnsch sprawls well. The fighters circling - Moore throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Menhadenburnsch throws a leg kick that is checked and Moore counters with a nice double leg into side control. Menhadenburnsch won't be happy with that. Moore cracks Menhadenburnsch with a big elbow. Menhadenburnsch is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Moore off and has taken his back! Moore rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Moore tries to roll over but Menhadenburnsch keeps him under control. Menhadenburnsch working the head and body with strikes. Moore trying to control but Menhadenburnsch postures up.
Menhadenburnsch tries to pass to full mount but Moore defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moore tries to get to full guard but Menhadenburnsch has control of the leg. Moore has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Menhadenburnsch is working away from the top position though. Menhadenburnsch trying to control from half guard but Moore is working away. Menhadenburnsch is pressing down on Moore's thigh, looking to free his foot. Moore is holding on for now. Menhadenburnsch is keen to just control but Moore is a slippery customer. Les Moore overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Moore is pressing down on Menhadenburnsch's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Moore will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Menhadenburnsch wants to pass the guard but Moore is keeping the position. Menhadenburnsch landing some decent shots from guard. Moore has his foot on Menhadenburnsch's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Menhadenburnsch works his way back into a safe position though. Moore tries to land a sweep but no joy. Moore keeping moving, preventing Menhadenburnsch from controlling successfully.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Moore throws a leg kick and Menhadenburnsch counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moore looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Menhadenburnsch's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Moore looking to hit a scissor sweep but Menhadenburnsch is one step ahead there. Menhadenburnsch scoring with punches to the head and body. Menhadenburnsch lands a couple of decent looking shots. Menhadenburnsch working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Moore's head. Moore trying to keep a closed guard but Menhadenburnsch is proving a slippery customer.
Menhadenburnsch is looking to pass into half guard but Moore pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Moore is in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moore working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Moore content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Menhadenburnsch looking for a sweep. Not yet Menhadenburnsch, not yet. Menhadenburnsch keeping moving, preventing Moore from controlling successfully. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Menhadenburnsch is on top in guard.
Moore tries to land a sweep but no joy. Menhadenburnsch working some strikes from top position. Menhadenburnsch trying to control but Moore is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Trent Menhadenburnsch will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Menhadenburnsch closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Moore to the mat! Moore manages to get full guard. Menhadenburnsch is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Menhadenburnsch postures up in Moore's guard and throws a big left but Moore blocks it. Moore looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Menhadenburnsch puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Moore tries to roll over but Menhadenburnsch keeps him under control. Moore avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Menhadenburnsch. Menhadenburnsch has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Menhadenburnsch is stalling here. Moore is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Menhadenburnsch seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Moore has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Moore grinds an elbow into Menhadenburnsch's temple. Menhadenburnsch is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Moore off and has taken his back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Menhadenburnsch is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Menhadenburnsch gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Menhadenburnsch gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Menhadenburnsch apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Menhadenburnsch throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Moore attempts a counter takedown but Menhadenburnsch avoids it well and moves away. Moore misses with a takedown attempt - Menhadenburnsch sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Moore closes this distance looking for a takedown but Menhadenburnsch circles away. A momentary lapse in concentration from Menhadenburnsch enables Moore to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Menhadenburnsch manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Menhadenburnsch lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Menhadenburnsch is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Menhadenburnsch postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Menhadenburnsch cracks Moore with a solid left hand. Menhadenburnsch trying to control but Moore is working from the bottom.

Moore tries to buck Menhadenburnsch off but Menhadenburnsch is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Trent Menhadenburnsch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Menhadenburnsch has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
