The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crushman takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Crushman connects with a body shot.

Putin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Crushman fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Crushman throws a body punch but Putin moves out of range.
Crushman dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Crushman struggles to land a body shot inside as Putin controls his hands.
Putin is fighting off a takedown attempt but Crushman is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Putin to the mat. Putin regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Crushman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Putin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Crushman is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Putin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Crushman is pushing down on Putin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Putin is fighting to maintain full guard but Crushman has managed to sneak the leg through.

Putin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Crushman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Crushman's back!

Putin doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Crushman counters with a nice low kick that buckles Putin's knee momentarily.
Putin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crushman uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Putin chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Crushman can pounce on him.

Putin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Putin slips a straight right by Crushman.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Putin.
Crushman scores with a decent looking hook.
Putin throws a right and a left that Crushman avoids nicely.
Putin connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Crushman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Putin throws out the jab.
Crushman tries to clinch up but Putin circles away and keeps his distance.

Putin buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Daniel Crushman is winning the standup battle so far.
Crushman blocks a head kick by Putin.

Putin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!
