Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jim Connected (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jez Beltran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jez Beltran is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connected throws a hook but Beltran blocks it.
Beltran shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Connected is trying to defend but Beltran finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Connected has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Beltran is working away from the top position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beltran is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Connected looks like he's trying to stand up.

Beltran goes for a double leg but Connected avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Connected continues to drive forward.

Jez Beltran is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
Connected wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

I would just about give that final round to Jez Beltran.
Well Beltran has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
