Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hung Barron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Buyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ted Buyer will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hung Barron! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ted Buyer! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buyer with a poor takedown and Barron counters with a left to the body. Buyer misses with a hook
and Barron counters with a nice uppercut. Buyer misses with a lunging right hand
and Barron counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Barron avoids the body shot from Buyer.
Buyer scores with a takedown into Barron's guard. Barron could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Barron is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Buyer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Barron working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Buyer. Buyer trying to control the position from guard on top but Barron is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Buyer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buyer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Barron keeping moving, preventing Buyer from controlling successfully. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Barron is on top in guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Buyer can do anything to dispel that myth. Barron won't allow Buyer to get back to his feet. Buyer working a defensive guard here.
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA New York inform us that Buyer has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Barron drops back looking for a leg! Buyer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Buyer manages to kick Barron off! Barron jumps back into Buyer's guard. Buyer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Buyer throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Buyer scores with a short punch from the bottom. Barron trying to control the position from guard on top but Buyer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Buyer trying to control the position.
Barron won't allow Buyer to sweep him here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Barron misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nice sprawl there from Barron as Buyer shoots in. Buyer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barron sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Buyer somewhat. Hung Barron has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Buyer. Buyer looks winded!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buyer ducks under a wild hook from Barron. Barron fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Barron displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Buyer. Barron takes a swing at Buyer's ribcage but misses. Barron stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Barron wants it to stay on the feet. Barron rushes Buyer and presses him up against the cage. Barron is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Buyer gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Barron pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Buyer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barron sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Buyer somewhat. The fight moves into the clinch position.

Barron looks to score with a jab to the body but Buyer is just out of range. Buyer has his takedown stuffed and Barron makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Barron uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Buyer. Barron is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Ted Buyer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barron ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Buyer moves away. Barron throws out a token jab with nothing on it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Barron dives in and grabs Buyer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Buyer pushes down on Barron's head and hops out. Buyer dives in and grabs Barron's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hung Barron dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Barron moves into the clinch. Barron can't get the takedown.
Barron is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Barron pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Barron is looking to wear down Buyer with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Buyer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Barron tries to clinch up but Buyer circles away and keeps his distance. Hung Barron is winning the standup battle so far. Buyer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Barron avoids it really well and circles away. Barron swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Buyer tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Barron defends well and Buyer ends up having to push Barron into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Buyer is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Buyer is breathing heavily. A swing and a miss from Buyer. Barron throwing a counter right hand but Buyer manages to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barron tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Buyer was well out of range. Poor timing from Barron. Barron is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Buyer can do to turn this around? Buyer misses with a straight right. Barron moves into the clinch successfully.

Nice takedown defense from Barron. No joy for Buyer on that attempt. Barron jabs at Buyer's body. Buyer misses with a takedown attempt - Barron sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Barron swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Barron has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Buyer after a bit of a struggle. Barron pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buyer shoots in and bounces Barron off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Buyer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Barron working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Buyer. Barron is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Barron might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Buyer postures up and lands a big shot to Barron's brow. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Buyer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barron has Buyer pulled in close to control his posture. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Buyer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barron swivels though and keeps the full guard. Barron trying to control the position here.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Buyer is looking for a sweep. Barron is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hung Barron dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Buyer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Barron counters with a nice body shot. Buyer scores with the left hand. Barron knows he should have avoided that one. Buyer goes for a double leg but Barron avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Barron continues to drive forward. Barron looks to land a combination. Buyer sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Buyer shoots in but no luck this time. Hung Barron has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Buyer. Barron clinches up with Buyer and pushes him back against the cage. Barron has picked Buyer up - he's going for a ride! Barron dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Ted Buyer has got the better of the ground game so far. Barron stalling. Barron is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Buyer is just riding it out for now. Barron eventually gives up the hold. Buyer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Barron controlling the pace.

Buyer wants to control the action here but instead Barron manages to pass to full mount! Buyer tries to improve his position but instead Barron has taken his back! Barron has good solid back control here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barron's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buyer trying to control the action but Barron just sinks the hooks in. What can Buyer do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Barron has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Buyer is in real trouble here. Barron gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Buyer is tapping out! Barron wins by rear naked choke!
