Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Super Carter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Rudi Dassler! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dassler shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Carter is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Dassler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Dassler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dassler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Dassler with a flurry of punches that miss. Dassler won't allow Carter to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dassler prevents Carter from getting back to his feet. Dassler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Carter is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dassler drops back looking for a leg! Carter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Carter manages to kick Dassler off! Dassler jumps back into Carter's guard. Dassler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dassler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dassler won't allow Carter to get back to his feet. Dassler throws a big right hand that misses. Dassler drops back looking for a leg! Carter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Carter manages to kick Dassler off! Dassler jumps back into Carter's guard. Dassler missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Dassler is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Dassler slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Carter is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Dassler throwing shots but missing, from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Dassler.
Dassler has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Carter! Carter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Carter wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Dassler with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Dassler has isolated one of Carter's arms. Carter looking to fight him off but Dassler twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
