PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nowell Eleosida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Merchant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Merchant is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by DMX - Intro. Lee Merchant told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nowell Eleosida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lee Merchant!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eleosida tries to close the distance and clinch up but Merchant swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Eleosida wants to clinch up but Merchant keeps it at a distance.
Eleosida on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Merchant. Merchant obviously looking to wear him down.
Eleosida closes the distance and clinches.
Merchant wants to break free but Eleosida has control.
Merchant tries to break the clinch but Eleosida is controlling the position.
Eleosida tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Eleosida breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Merchant connects with a looping right hand.
It looks like Nowell Eleosida has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Merchant blocks the body kick.
Eleosida moves in looking to clinch but Merchant pushes him off.
A shot to de liver by Merchant. Beautiful body shot.
Eleosida is breathing heavily.
Eleosida walks straight into a right hand from Merchant - that's dropped him! Merchant jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Eleosida from any more punishment! Eleosida complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Lee Merchant!
