Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dante Gael Roman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Oliver Queen!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Queen closes the distance and clinches.
Queen working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Queen has clasped his hands together around Roman's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Queen working the strikes but Roman uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Roman tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Queen has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Queen working for a submission but Roman is keeping him at bay.

Queen has hold of Roman's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Roman manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Roman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Queen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Roman manages to avoid it.

Oliver Queen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Oliver Queen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Roman. Queen does a little dance to reset his feet.
No joy there for Queen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Queen lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Roman enables Queen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Roman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Roman is looking for a sweep. Queen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Queen is pressing down on Roman's thigh, looking to free his foot. Roman is holding on for now.
Oliver Queen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Queen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Queen scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Queen looks to land a body kick but Roman moved away.
Roman gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Queen.
Roman walks into a jab.

Queen moves into range and clinches up with Roman.

Queen is trying to trip Roman. He has hold of a leg but Roman is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Queen persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Roman has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Queen has passed into side control.
Queen has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Queen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Queen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Dante Gael Roman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Queen is landing with some decent strikes but Roman is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Well Queen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
