Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dannie Kidd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charles Vance! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vance rushes Kidd and presses him up against the cage. Kidd tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vance smiles and moves away.
Vance forces Kidd back against the cage and clinches. Vance's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Vance gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Kidd really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Vance makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Kidd is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Kidd is looking to control Vance's arms but Vance gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kidd has his back to the cage. Vance's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Vance has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Kidd is landing a low percentage of strikes. Vance lands a big uppercut and Kidd crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kidd looks OK. Vance waves Kidd back to his feet!
Kidd is rocked!
It looks like Dannie Kidd has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Vance gets in close and instigates a clinch. Oh Kidd is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Vance breaks from the clinch.
Vance moves into the clinch. Kidd wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Vance breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A head kick misses from Vance. Kidd dives in and grabs Vance's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vance pushes down on Kidd's head and hops out. Vance clinches. Vance manages to break the clinch.
Vance clinches up with Kidd and pushes him back against the cage. Vance breaks the clinch.
Kidd has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dannie Kidd. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kidd gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!
