Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Benson Whyte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masa Sanada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whyte kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bob Marley - Jammin. Benson Whyte has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Benson Whyte! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Masa Sanada! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanada takes one to the side of the head.
Whyte gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Whyte waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sanada. Sanada scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Sanada misses with a lunging right hand
letting Whyte counter with a right hand. Sanada swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Whyte scores with a hook. Whyte avoids the body shot from Sanada.
Whyte fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Whyte swings for the body but Sanada moves out of range.
Whyte moves into the clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Whyte softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes. Sanada digs a right hand underneath Whyte's ribcage. Whyte let out a lung full of air as it connected. Whyte unloads a knee to the mid-section. Sanada lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Sanada looking to stall.
Sanada pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters circle momentarily. Whyte darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Sanada punishes Whyte's body with a nice straight punch. Whyte tries to clinch there but Sanada circles away.
Whyte misses with a shot to the body and Sanada counters with a nice uppercut. Whyte scores with a nice right hand.
Sanada misses with a two punch combination.
It appears Whyte was looking to counter with a kick there. Whyte punishes Sanada's body with a nice straight punch. Sanada on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Whyte. Whyte obviously looking to wear him down.
Sanada pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Sanada gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Whyte throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
We've been told by Whyte's head coaches at Forest Hill Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Whyte misses with a right hand and Sanada makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanada's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Sanada duly obliges.
It looks like Benson Whyte has been cut. Sanada throws a lazy right hand but Whyte sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Sanada scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Whyte clobbers Sanada with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Sanada tries to move into range but Whyte moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Sanada misses the jab. Sanada throws a hook but Whyte blocks it. An attempted straight right counter from Whyte misses the target. Whyte uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sanada. Sanada looks to throw the jab but Whyte is out of range. Whyte throws a sloppy head kick and Sanada moves out of range easily. Whyte misses the jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanada takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Whyte throws a body shot but no joy. Sanada throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Whyte counters with a nice uppercut. Sanada takes a shot right to the bread basket. Whyte tries to clinch up but Sanada circles away and keeps his distance. Decent striking displayed by Whyte there. Whyte jabbing away but nothing is landing. Sanada is looking for the big counter here. A nice inside leg kick there by Whyte. That's going to slow Sanada down. Whyte is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Sanada throws an overhand right that lands on Whyte's shoulder, as Whyte tries to avoid the shot. Whyte lands with an overhand left. Whyte tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sanada was well out of range. Poor timing from Whyte. Whyte scores with a decent looking hook.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whyte lands a nice hook to Sanada's body. Sanada takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. This has been an exciting period of action! Whyte throws out a loose jab but Sanada uses good head movement to avoid it. Sanada moves out of range of the strikes. Sanada throws a hook to the side of Whyte's head but Whyte sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. It looked like Whyte wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Whyte throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sanada on the side of the head. Sanada throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Whyte paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Sanada scores with a nice right hand.
Whyte takes a shot to the body in his stride.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Whyte thows a left - swing and a miss! Sanada chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Whyte can pounce on him.
Sanada throws a big shot that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Benson Whyte dominated that round. The cut man is working on Benson Whyte's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Whyte counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Sanada slips under a jab from Whyte. Sanada throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Whyte. Whyte bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sanada's head backwards. Whyte is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sanada. Whyte throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sanada counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Whyte throws a head kick that misses enabling Sanada to counter with a crisp jab. Sanada throws a jab when Whyte was well out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Whyte cracks Sanada with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Whyte throws a right hand that misses
and Whyte takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Sanada connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Benson Whyte seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sanada has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sanada there as he acknowledges the shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whyte lunges at Sanada with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sanada's hand. Whyte throws out a token jab with nothing on it. It seemed like Sanada was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Sanada staying out of range there. Whyte misses with a right hand and Whyte takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Whyte misses with a hook. Whyte chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Sanada misses with an uppercut. Whyte saw that one coming. Sanada closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Whyte scores with a jab. Whyte throws a poor cross that misses
and Sanada counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Sanada lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Benson Whyte is winning the standup battle so far. Sanada tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Whyte was well out of range. Poor timing from Sanada.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Whyte lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Whyte throws a lazy uppercut
and Sanada connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Sanada blocks a leg kick. Sanada is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Sanada in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Whyte misses with an uppercut
and Sanada counters with a stiff right hand.
Whyte is rocked! Whyte gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Sanada gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Whyte is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Masa Sanada! The defeated Benson Whyte had this to say: 'I been fighting non-stop since I was 18, I think its time to step back and take a likkle time out to better my game so this doesn't happen again'.
