PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tamagoshi Yoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santos Belovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yoshi comes into the arena with Bushido blaring out of the sound system. The key to victory for Tamagoshi Yoshi has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tamagoshi Yoshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Santos Belovic!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belovic misses with a body shot.
Belovic misses with a jab, cross combination.
Belovic throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Yoshi to counter with a crisp jab.
Yoshi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Belovic throws a hook but Yoshi blocks it.
Belovic takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Belovic swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Yoshi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Yoshi lands with a straight right. Belovic didn't see that one coming.
Yoshi lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Yoshi jabs Belovic right on the nose. Belovic blinks but takes it well.

Yoshi pushes Belovic up against the cage in a clinch.
Belovic jumps guard but Yoshi turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Yoshi lands a left hand that snaps the head of Belovic backwards.
Yoshi working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Yoshi tries to work over Belovic's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Yoshi has Belovic pressed against the cage, preventing Belovic from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yoshi keeps control of Belovic as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Yoshi lands a right hand that snaps the head of Belovic backwards.
Belovic tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Yoshi smiles and moves away.
Yoshi lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Belovic fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yoshi manages to avoid it.
A decent looking cross lands there for Yoshi.

Yoshi has managed to clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Yoshi.
Belovic is trying to force a seperation but Yoshi has the dominant position.
Belovic jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Yoshi walks away with a smile on his face. Belovic gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Tamagoshi Yoshi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Santos Belovic.
Yoshi ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Belovic takes one to the chin there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A decent looking cross lands there for Yoshi.
Yoshi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Yoshi buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Yoshi - that will leave a mark!
Belovic misses with a hook
and Yoshi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A nice inside leg kick there by Yoshi. That's going to slow Belovic down.
Belovic fails to land with a series of punches.
Yoshi lands the left hand.
Yoshi is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Belovic misses with a double jab.
A swing and a miss from Belovic.
Yoshi throws a quick counter kick to the body but Belovic avoids it.
Yoshi with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Yoshi throws a nice inside leg kick.
Yoshi throws a good cross that connects.
Nice takedown defense from Yoshi. No joy for Belovic on that attempt.
Belovic misses with a double jab.
Belovic rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yoshi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Belovic is defended easily by Yoshi.
Belovic gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Yoshi bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Yoshi scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Yoshi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Belovic misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Yoshi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Yoshi paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Yoshi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Yoshi thuds a left hand into Belovic's body.

Yoshi gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A right handed body shot lands from Yoshi.
Yoshi lands a body shot in the clinch.
Belovic has had enough of the clinch but Yoshi keeps him there for the moment.
Belovic is trying to force a seperation but Yoshi has the dominant position.
Yoshi stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
A left hand lands to the body for Yoshi.
Yoshi lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Belovic wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Belovic has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Yoshi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Belovic is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Belovic tries to pull guard but Yoshi won't allow it.
Belovic is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Yoshi to keep the fight standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tamagoshi Yoshi dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Belovic swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Yoshi counters with a one-two to the body.
Yoshi cracks the inside of Belovic's front leg.
Yoshi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Belovic can do to turn this around?
Yoshi lands a head shot.
Belovic throws a combination that misses
and Yoshi counters with a stiff right hand.
Yoshi lands with an overhand left.
Yoshi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Belovic stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Yoshi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Tamagoshi Yoshi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Belovic rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Belovic takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


Belovic is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A shot to the body from Belovic misses
and Yoshi counters with a nice uppercut.
Belovic is still on wobbly legs! Can Yoshi finish him?

Yoshi drives through and clinches with Belovic against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Yoshi.
Belovic wants a takedown.
Belovic is looking to break free of the clinch but Yoshi has double underhooks.
Yoshi digs a right hand underneath Belovic's ribcage. Belovic let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Yoshi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Yoshi works the jab nicely.
Yoshi with a body punch. A glancing blow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yoshi pounces like a tiger and cracks Belovic with a vicious hook! Belovic is down but not out! Yoshi follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Tamagoshi Yoshi!
Our winner, Tamagoshi Yoshi, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
