Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miller Gozu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Da Wrestler Killa!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Killa throws a nice looking combination but Gozu bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Killa gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Killa wants to get back to his feet but Gozu is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Gozu tries to free his leg and advance position but Killa is retaining full guard.
Gozu passes Killa's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Gozu is pressing down on Killa's thigh, looking to free his foot. Killa is holding on for now.
Killa has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Gozu is on him like a limpet, forcing Killa back against the cage.
Gozu is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Killa pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Killa works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gozu can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Killa controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gozu trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Killa trying to stand up but can't free himself from Gozu's guard.
Killa content to stall in guard here.
Killa stands and steps away. Gozu gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Killa lands with a good body shot.
Gozu rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Killa makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Killa throws a head kick that Gozu semi-blocks.
Killa throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gozu's head.
Horrible takedown attempt by Gozu or perhaps it was just good defense by Killa, which made it look bad.
Gozu has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Touch Of Death Combat Academy in the buildup to the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gozu pushes Killa up against the cage in a clinch.
Gozu can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miller Gozu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Killa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Killa sizes up Gozu with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Killa swinging wildly here.
Gozu appears to be looking for a big counter.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Killa lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Gozu jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Killa lands a big head kick that sends Gozu tumbling to the mat! Killa takes a step backwards and waves Gozu back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Gozu is rocked!
Killa stuffs the takedown attempt from Gozu. Gozu gets slowly back to his feet.
Gozu dives in and grabs Killa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Killa pushes down on Gozu's head and hops out.
Gozu moves in looking to clinch but Killa pushes him off.
Gozu misses with an uppercut
and Killa counters with a crisp one two that drops Gozu! Killa thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Gozu to his feet! Gozu is in big trouble!
Oh Gozu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Killa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Da Wrestler Killa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Crack! A monster head kick from Killa and Gozu falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Killa!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Da Wrestler Killa!
Miller Gozu spoke after the fight, saying 'Thank you! Its a great night of fights so stick around!'.
