Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maurice Jenkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rumble Lee!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins dives in and grabs Lee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes down on Jenkins's head and hops out.

Lee scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Jenkins has one foot on Lee's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Jenkins shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jenkins stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Lee drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jenkins not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lee is looking to work some ground and pound but Jenkins has wrist control.

Jenkins looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lee looking to sit in guard and control but Jenkins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Jenkins lands a couple of elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jenkins stopping the sweep attempt from Lee.
Lee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jenkins is pushing down on Lee's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lee is fighting to maintain full guard but Jenkins has managed to sneak the leg through.

Jenkins thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Jenkins is working for a kimura but Lee is defending it quite comfortably.
Jenkins working over Lee with some ground and pound. Lee looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Lee looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jenkins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lee keeps working.
Lee trying to hold on to Jenkins's head to control him but Jenkins postures up.

Jenkins has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Lee defend it? Jenkins steps over the head and cranks it - Lee is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Jenkins!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Maurice Jenkins!
Maurice Jenkins very nearly forgot to thank Fatty's amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
