Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duke Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rafael Cortez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Duke Anderson! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Dean Styles and Franklyn Lucas.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson tries to clinch but Cortez moves out of range. Anderson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cortez defends it nicely. Anderson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cortez as he avoids it easily. Anderson tries for a takedown but Cortez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Rafael Cortez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Duke Anderson. Anderson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cortez as he jumps to the side. Cortez seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Cortez slaps away a takedown attempt from Anderson, before circling back to the center of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cortez connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Anderson momentarily.
Anderson throws the kick towards the body but Cortez avoids it. Cortez was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. A jab from Cortez finds it's way through Anderson's defenses.

It looks like Duke Anderson has been cut.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Cortez digs a good hook to Anderson's body.
Anderson looks winded! Cortez with a hook. Cortez lands with an overhand left. A left lands for Cortez. Anderson drops his hands momentarily. Cortez doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Anderson staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Anderson doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rafael Cortez! A relieved looking Rafael Cortez thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
