The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Submits misses with an uppercut
and Suluhu counters with a body kick that stops Submits in his tracks momentarily.
Submits misses with a lunging right hand
and Suluhu counters with a shoot takedown. Submits fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Submits working for a triangle but Suluhu defends it easily.
Submits is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Suluhu has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Submits is proving hard to escape from.
Submits is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
