Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mikel Roman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bilbo Baggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bilbo Baggins has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mikel Roman's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mikel Roman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bilbo Baggins!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baggins misses with a wild combination.

and Roman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Baggins's guard.
Roman lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Roman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Roman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Baggins works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Baggins utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Roman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Roman has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Baggins clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Roman is striking well from the back but Baggins escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.

That was a close round but I would say that Mikel Roman will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Baggins misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
As Baggins looks to move away, Roman throws a big counter combo but Baggins just gets out of the way.
Bilbo Baggins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Roman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Baggins closes the distance and clinches.
Baggins is looking to control Roman's arms but Roman gets an underhook and turns him. Now Baggins has his back to the cage.
Roman tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Baggins smiles and moves away.
Baggins throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Roman counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Roman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Baggins pulls his leg out and moves away.
Baggins looks to land a combination but Roman avoids it well.
Baggins throws a series of punches but Roman avoids them all with ease.

It looked like Roman was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Roman went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Baggins enables Roman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Baggins manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
