PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Khaliev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eshael Loheis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khaliev comes to the cage accompanied by T-Wayne - Nasty Freestyle. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Loheis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Khaliev circles away. Khaliev scores with a head kick.
It looks like Eshael Loheis has been cut. Khaliev lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Khaliev cracks Loheis with a big right hand and Loheis goes down!
Loheis is rocked!
That has opened up Eshael Loheis's cut even more. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Loheis wants to stand up but Khaliev is controlling him. Loheis is still in real trouble! Can Khaliev finish him? Khaliev trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Khaliev is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Academy for Advanced Ass-Whippery that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Loheis being controlled here, momentarily. Loheis seems to have recovered his senses. Khaliev passes into half guard. Khaliev perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Khaliev looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Khaliev is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Loheis is kicking away at Khaliev from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Khaliev grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Loheis trying to push Khaliev off... Loheis taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Adam Khaliev! A loyal slave to those sponsorship dollars, Adam Khaliev made sure he mentioned Pit Bull Development, along with how happy he was to win his fight.
