The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vekkiotsamo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Fullohair shoots for a double leg takedown but Vekkiotsamo sprawls well. He's pushed Fullohair's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vekkiotsamo is trying to control the action in half guard but Fullohair is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Fullohair shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vekkiotsamo as he jumps to the side.
Fullohair has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Vekkiotsamo finds it's way round the side to connect with Fullohair's head.

Voitto Vekkiotsamo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fullohair takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
