Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paavo Matinheimo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keijo Kanki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keijo Kanki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paavo Matinheimo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keijo Kanki!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matinheimo moves out of range of the body kick from Kanki.

It looks like Keijo Kanki has been cut.

Matinheimo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kanki is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Matinheimo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kanki's back instead.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Matinheimo. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kanki is not going to allow Matinheimo to sit and survive in this position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kanki has a takedown stuffed.
Matinheimo misses with a straight left.
Matinheimo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Kanki drops back looking for a leg! Matinheimo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Matinheimo manages to kick Kanki off! Kanki jumps back into Matinheimo's guard.
