Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Karol Mirowski (ranked 54 p4p, 3 weight class) and Kira Miyata (ranked 125 p4p, 9 weight class). Mirowski's entrance music is Mercy. A fine choice. Miyata is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Boa - Energetic. Kira Miyata acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

38 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kira Miyata! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mirowski dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Miyata. That did some damage! Miyata lands a nice hook to Mirowski's body. Mirowski takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Mirowski looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Mirowski lands a leg kick that knocks Miyata off balance momentarily. Miyata stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mirowski. Miyata smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Karol Mirowski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mirowski takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Miyata connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Mirowski lands with a thumping leg kick.

and Mirowski counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mirowski has been working on his boxing with his coaches at AK Beasties in the buildup to the fight. Mirowski takes a swing at Miyata's ribcage but misses. Mirowski is looking to slow Miyata down with leg kicks. Miyata throws a jab but it's blocked by Mirowski. Mirowski cracks the inside of Miyata's front leg. Miyata staying out of range there. Mirowski connects with a leg kick. Miyata looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Mirowski throws a leg kick but Miyata moved away. Miyata misses with an uppercut. Mirowski saw that one coming. Mirowski tries to clinch but fails miserably and Miyata counters with a single leg into guard. Mirowski didn't expect that. Mirowski has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Miyata has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A nice left hand lands by Mirowski.

Miyata has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Miyata takes one to the chin there. Miyata fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Karol Mirowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kira Miyata. Miyata misses with a wild body shot. Miyata throws a looping overhand right but Mirowski ducks down to avoid it. Mirowski lands a really nice looking cross but Miyata seems unphased.
Miyata's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. A jab lands there for Mirowski. Mirowski throws a series of strikes that have Miyata backpedaling.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mirowski throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Mirowski ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Miyata shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Miyata was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Miyata is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mirowski has escaped the position, nice work there. Mirowski prevents Miyata from improving position. Miyata wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mirowski keeps working. Miyata is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mirowski knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Mirowski stops Miyata from passing to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mirowski bucks up and tries to throw Miyata off but instead Miyata has got his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mirowski trying to get back to his feet but Miyata is in full control for now. Mirowski fending off the submission attempt from Miyata. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Miyata is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Mirowski has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Karol Mirowski dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Miyata closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mirowski quickly recovers to half guard. Miyata is just content to waste time from the top position. Mirowski takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Miyata throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mirowski works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mirowski keeping moving, preventing Miyata from controlling successfully. Miyata prevents Mirowski from getting back to his feet. Kira Miyata has got the better of the ground game so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miyata chips away with some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mirowski is trying to stand up here but Miyata is controlling him well. Miyata passes to full mount! Miyata punching from mount but Mirowski doing a good job of avoiding damage. Miyata lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Mirowski hang on? Miyata has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mirowski's face.

That was a close round but Karol Mirowski did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Miyata looks up at the clock and then as Mirowski takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Miyata smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

He's shot a load of snot all down Mirowski's shoulder. That is not cool. Mirowski dodges the ground and pound from Miyata. Miyata tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Mirowski wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Miyata trying to control the position but Mirowski is working away. Miyata tries to score with some ground and pound. Mirowski controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Miyata tries to move into full mount but can't pass Mirowski's legs. Miyata has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mirowski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Miyata is pulling down on Mirowski's head. It's preventing any offense from Mirowski, at least for the moment. Miyata bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mirowski's guard.

Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Miyata accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Karol Mirowski! Karol Mirowski retains his bantamweight title! Karol Mirowski decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
