Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aleksander Kawulski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Arto Blomsten!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blomsten scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Blomsten looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Kawulski is trying to get back to full guard.
Blomsten takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Kawulski is refusing to be controlled, as Blomsten sits in half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Blomsten counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kawulski won't be happy with that.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Blomsten tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Blomsten has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kawulski is looking to control Blomsten's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kawulski avoid being mounted?

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Blomsten throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

As Kawulski backs off Blomsten throws a huge counter combo but Kawulski manages to avoid it all.
Kawulski looks to land a left hand but Blomsten moved out of range nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Blomsten bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Blomsten lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Kawulski throws an overhand right that lands on Blomsten's shoulder, as Blomsten tries to avoid the shot.

And that's the end of the fight!
