Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Warley Alvez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andres Uray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvez comes to the cage accompanied by POP. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Warley Alvez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andres Uray!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uray takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Uray misses with a double jab.
Uray swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Alvez takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Alvez moves in looking to clinch but Uray pushes him off.
Uray steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Alvez.

Alvez moves into the clinch.
A short uppercut from Uray.
Uray pushes Alvez back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Alvez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Uray wants to get up but he can't break Alvez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Alvez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Uray's guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Uray has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Alvez is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Uray.

Andres Uray is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've been informed that Uray has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Alvez shoots for a double leg takedown but Uray sprawls well. He's pushed Alvez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
It looks like Alvez has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Warley Alvez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Alvez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Uray did well to prevent Alvez getting side control.

Alvez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Uray can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
