Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jiu Jitsu (ranked 4613 p4p, 609 weight class) and Frank Murphy (ranked 6475 p4p, 737 weight class). The key to victory for Jiu Jitsu has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jiu Jitsu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Murphy! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Russell Pearce and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jitsu clinches with his opponent.
Murphy gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Murphy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jitsu manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Murphy has Jitsu in his guard. Jitsu is pushing down on Murphy's leg trying to pass to half guard. Murphy is fighting to maintain full guard but Jitsu has managed to sneak the leg through. Murphy controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Jitsu seems to be working for a kimura but Murphy defends the submission attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Murphy tries to roll over but Jitsu keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jitsu wants to take a breather but Murphy is having none of it. Jitsu is trying to work for a kimura but Murphy is defending well.
We've been hearing that Jitsu has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Still in half guard, Jitsu seems content to control. Murphy makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Murphy. Jitsu looking to pass the guard. Murphy has his hands on Jitsu's head, controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jitsu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jitsu is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Murphy seems keen to control Jitsu's posture. That's three minutes gone in the round. Murphy pulls Jitsu in close to prevent any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Jitsu leaves Murphy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Murphy avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jitsu shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Murphy napping and manages to drive through into side control! Murphy tries to get back to half guard but can't. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Murphy can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jitsu is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Jitsu working away. Murphy holding on. Jitsu working away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jitsu is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Murphy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Murphy is looking for a sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jitsu is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Both fighters working to control the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jitsu manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Murphy trying to control but Jitsu is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jitsu lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Murphy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jitsu manages to get himself to full guard.
Murphy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Murphy wants to control from the top but Jitsu keeps moving. Jitsu wants to sweep here but Murphy controlling him for the moment. Jitsu utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Murphy connects with a couple of short punches. Murphy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jitsu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Murphy looking to sit in guard and control but Jitsu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jitsu decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Murphy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jitsu but Jitsu pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three minutes gone in the round. Jitsu has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Murphy regains guard immediately. Murphy is pulling down on Jitsu's head to control his posture. Let's hope that Murphy has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Murphy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Jitsu trying to control the position from guard on top but Murphy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jitsu is really struggling to control Murphy but he's trying to hold on to the position. Our spies down at at Cozad MMA New York inform us that Murphy has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murphy is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Jitsu wants to pass the guard but Murphy is keeping the position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Murphy is on top in guard.

Murphy ducks under a wild hook from Jitsu. Murphy with the counter takedown but Jitsu avoids it easily. Murphy tries for a takedown but Jitsu sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Jitsu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Murphy. Murphy shoots in looking for a takedown. Jitsu tries to sprawl out of it but Murphy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jitsu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jiu Jitsu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Murphy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jitsu has closed the distance and engaged Murphy in a clinch.

Murphy has clasped his hands together around Jitsu's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Jitsu explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Murphy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jitsu is trying to defend but Murphy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Murphy looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Murphy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murphy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Jitsu actively working from the bottom here. Murphy seems to be working for a kimura but Jitsu defends the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murphy is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jitsu doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Murphy. Murphy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jitsu makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Murphy wants to control from the top but Jitsu keeps moving. Jitsu working a defensive guard here.
Murphy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Murphy wants to control from the top but Jitsu keeps moving. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jitsu holds on and takes a little breather.

And that's the end of the fight! Jiu Jitsu showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jitsu has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
