Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harlan Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Randall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randall has chosen Promentory as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Dave Randall enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Harlan Patterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Randall! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Randall shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Patterson's guard. Patterson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Randall has passed into side control.
Patterson regains half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Randall prevents Patterson from improving his position. Patterson keeping control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Randall wants to take a breather but Patterson is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patterson gets back to full guard.
Randall gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Randall lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Harlan Patterson has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patterson tries to sprawl but Randall drives through with a takedown into half guard. Randall looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Patterson tries to get to full guard but Randall has control of the leg. Randall wants to control but Patterson is keeping him busy. Patterson gets back to full guard.
Patterson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Patterson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Randall must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Randall stands up from Patterson's guard - Randall perhaps looking for a knockout. Dave Randall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Patterson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Harlan Patterson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Randall has taken the fight to the clinch.
Patterson is looking for a takedown. Randall lands a takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patterson looking for a sweep. Not yet Patterson, not yet. Patterson controls Randall momentarily but Randall frees himself. Patterson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Randall wants to stand but Patterson is controlling his posture from full guard. Patterson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Patterson is trying to control the position but Randall postures up. Patterson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Patterson is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Randall throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Patterson tries to keep at a distance but Randall has taken the fight into the clinch. Patterson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Randall breaks the clinch.
Patterson tries to sprawl but Randall drives through with a takedown into half guard. Patterson keeping control of the position. Randall missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Patterson tries to get to full guard but Randall has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Randall dominated that round. The cut man is working on Harlan Patterson's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Randall manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Randall manages to break the clinch.
Patterson looks to land a combination but Randall avoids it well. Randall misses with a head kick.
Randall throws a sloppy head kick and Patterson moves out of range easily. Randall closes the distance and clinches. Patterson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Randall avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Patterson has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. A short left from Randall.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Patterson can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harlan Patterson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Patterson working hard to break the clinch. Patterson trying to land knees to the body.
Patterson is trying to push Randall away but Randall has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Patterson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Randall clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Randall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Patterson is hanging on to Randall's back as he tries to escape.
Patterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Randall is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Randall is still trying to improve position. Randall is trying to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Randall is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Randall wants to control his opponent's hands but Patterson gets his hands free. Patterson struggling to land strikes to the head as Randall covers up. Randall trying to control the hands but Patterson won't let him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Patterson trying to control. Randall needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation. Randall wants to escape the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Patterson tries to get the hooks in deep but Randall pushed the leg off. Randall is trying to stand back up. Randall breaks Patterson's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Randall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Harlan Patterson's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Randall clinches up against the cage. Patterson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Patterson has had enough of the clinch but Randall keeps him there for the moment. Patterson has Randall pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Randall manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Randall escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patterson tries to pull guard but Randall won't allow it.

Randall slows the pace down. Randall decides to stand back up. Randall steps back and let's Patterson get back to his feet. Patterson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Randall would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dave Randall has got the better of the ground game so far. Patterson wants to sweep here but Randall controlling him for the moment. Randall trying to stand up but can't free himself from Patterson's guard. Patterson pulls Randall in close to his closed guard and prevents Randall from doing any damage or advancing position. Randall postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Randall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Patterson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Patterson avoids the head kick by Randall.
Patterson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Patterson fails in his attempt to clinch. A momentary lapse in concentration from Patterson enables Randall to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Patterson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Randall decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Randall throws a body shot but no joy. Patterson closes the distance and clinches. Randall breaks from the clinch.

Patterson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Randall swats him away and circles back towards the center. Randall tries to keep at a distance but Patterson has taken the fight into the clinch. Patterson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Patterson misses with a knee to the head. Patterson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Randall gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Randall works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Dave Randall comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Randall has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
