Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kyle Zipperman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Foster!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Foster fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zipperman sprawls well initially but Foster persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Foster seems to be working for a kimura but Zipperman defends the submission attempt.
Zipperman is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Foster thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Zipperman's head.
Foster working the head and body with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Foster is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Foster is working for a submission of some sort.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Foster is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Foster slows the pace down in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Foster wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zipperman keeps working.
Foster seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Zipperman is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Foster's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Foster's back!
Foster surviving as best he can, preventing damage.
Foster trying to control but not successfully.
Zipperman tries to keep control of the position but Foster is staying busy.
Foster really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zipperman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Zipperman has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Foster is in real trouble here. Zipperman gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Foster is tapping out! Zipperman wins by rear naked choke!
