Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Crane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gavin Cormier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gavin Cormier has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Crane! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gavin Cormier! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cormier is defended easily by Crane. Crane with a poor takedown and Cormier counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cormier. Cormier dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Crane stalling in the clinch but Cormier improves position. Cormier breaks from the clinch.
Crane shoots for a double leg takedown but Cormier sprawls well. He's pushed Crane's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jonathan Crane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Crane tries for a takedown but Cormier circles away easily and Cormier counters with a lovely straight right hand! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonathan Crane. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crane fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Crane shoots in for a takedown but Cormier shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Crane sets himself, and Cormier steps forward looking for the clinch! Crane avoids it this time. Cormier fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Crane to the ground. Cormier is now in Crane's guard. Crane is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Cormier dives into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crane is trying to escape the position but Cormier is controlling the position. Cormier throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Cormier decides to stand back up. Crane fails with a takedown attempt. Cormier throws a sloppy head kick and Crane moves out of range easily. Crane shoots for a double leg takedown but Cormier sprawls well. He's pushed Crane's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Crane shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cormier as he jumps to the side. Crane is breathing heavily. Cormier stuffs the takedown. Cormier looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Crane has his takedown stuffed and Cormier counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Cormier escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cormier misses with a body kick. Crane appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Crane shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cormier as he jumps to the side. Crane darts in looking for a takedown but Cormier gets double underhooks and turns Crane into the cage. Cormier tries a quick counter leg kick but Crane is wise to it. Cormier has closed the distance and engaged Crane in a clinch.
Cormier manages to break the clinch.
Cormier stuffs the takedown attempt from Crane. Crane gets slowly back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cormier closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Crane did well to prevent Cormier getting side control. Crane wants to stand back up but Cormier manages to pass into side control.
Cormier decides to stand up, so the ref orders Crane to his feet. Crane avoids the head kick by Cormier.
Crane half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cormier goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Cormier misses with a wild body shot. Crane has his takedown stuffed and Cormier moves into the clinch. A battle for position here, against the cage. Cormier wants a takedown.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Cormier breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Crane gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Cormier in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crane avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Cormier slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Cormier stands up from guard. Let's bang! Crane fails to land the takedown. Cormier drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Crane defends it well. Cormier displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Crane. Cormier looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Crane! Crane wants to get back to his feet but Cormier is dominant here and he's now got Crane's back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gavin Cormier dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Cormier looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Crane is fending him off so far but Cormier persists. Nope, Crane circles away and we're back to standing. Cormier gets in close and instigates a clinch. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Cormier as Crane tries to tie him up. Cormier pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cormier looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crane preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cormier working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Cormier advances to half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cormier passes to full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cormier cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Cormier gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Crane tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cormier sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Crane somewhat. Gavin Cormier seems to be getting the better of the standup. Cormier shoots for a takedown but Crane saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Crane looks for a takedown but Cormier sprawls well. Crane shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonathan Crane. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cormier slaps away a takedown attempt from Crane, before circling back to the center of the mat. Cormier is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Cormier shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cormier showed some decent athleticism there. Cormier has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Cormier takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Cormier throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Cormier misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Crane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cormier but Cormier pushes him off and we're back to square one. Crane tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cormier sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Crane somewhat. Cormier pushes Crane up against the cage in a clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cormier drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Crane gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Gavin Cormier showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Crane shoots in and drives through. Cormier sprawls well. Cormier lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Crane fails with the takedown and Cormier counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. A head kick misses from Cormier. Cormier decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cormier missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cormier's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Jonathan Crane has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gavin Cormier is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
And that's the end of the fight! Gavin Cormier comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Cormier has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
