Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leland Carson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierre Ducati (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pierre Ducati is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Leland Carson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pierre Ducati!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ducati feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Carson really is a fat lump.
Ducati working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ducati slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ducati on the ground.

Carson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ducati has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Carson is proving hard to escape from.
Carson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Ducati manages to pass to side control.

Ducati seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Carson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ducati has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ducati controlling the pace for now.

Ducati jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Carson manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Carson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ducati has just dragged him back down to the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Carson is trying to get back to his feet.

Ducati stands up.
Pierre Ducati seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Carson moves into the clinch.

Ducati breaks the clinch.
Ducati closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Leland Carson has been cut.

Ducati throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Carson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ducati is in Carson's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ducati stays in close to Carson's body and controls the position.
It looks like Ducati might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Let's hope that Ducati has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Carson is wriggling around but Ducati manages to pass to half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ducati in particular looking to stall.
Ducati tries to stand and escape but Carson is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ducati takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Ducati has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ducati in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Carson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Ducati!
