Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ricardo Talisay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Samart Sirinto!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sirinto wants to clinch

and Talisay counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Talisay.
Talisay stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sirinto swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sirinto is trying to keep Talisay in close.
Talisay might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Sirinto is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Talisay controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sirinto trying to keep a closed guard but Talisay is proving a slippery customer.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Talisay could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Talisay tries to free his leg and advance position but Sirinto is retaining full guard.
Talisay is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Sirinto darts in trying to clinch

and Talisay counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Sirinto!

Sirinto gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Talisay has hold of Sirinto's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sirinto manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Talisay jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sirinto manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Talisay is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sirinto knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Talisay wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sirinto, who protects the arm well.
Talisay trying to control the action but Sirinto is working from the bottom.
Sirinto is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Talisay is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Talisay wants to finish this one by submission but Sirinto is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Talisay.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sirinto is trying to escape the mount but Talisay keeps good control and instead manages to take Sirinto's back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Talisay has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Sirinto has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
What can Sirinto do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Talisay trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Talisay tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sirinto sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Talisay somewhat.
Sirinto throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Ricardo Talisay has been cut.

Sirinto gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Talisay pushing down on Sirinto's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Talisay looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Talisay is looking to advance position but Sirinto won't allow it.

Sirinto wants to control but Talisay is keeping busy.
Talisay prevents Sirinto from improving his position.
Talisay has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Talisay looking for a guillotine from mount but Sirinto is having none of it.

Talisay quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Talisay but it's paid off an Sirinto is forced to tap! Nice work by Talisay.
