And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Drake Bell!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Booker closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Bell lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Bell slips under a jab.
Bell misses the shot to the body.
Booker definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Bell throws a jab but it's blocked by Booker.
Booker tries for a takedown but Bell circles away easily
enabling Bell to counter with a crisp jab.
Bell bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Bell's corner calls for a 1-2. Bell obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Booker walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Booker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bell uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bell throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Booker counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bell is trying to maintain the position but Booker is very close to passing his half guard.

Bell looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Booker seems to be working for a kimura but Bell defends the submission attempt.
Bell is trying to stand back up but Booker is controlling him
Bell is in trouble now - Booker has advanced to mount!
Booker pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Bell is wriggling around trying to escape.
Booker looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Bell tries to hold on but Booker pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bell is squirming around, avoiding Booker's attempts to control the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Booker lands a heavy elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Booker looking to finish Bell with some ground and pound. This is bad for Bell!

Booker is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Bell is forced to tap! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Maxwell Booker!
