The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Earthquake looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Earthquake is trying to work for a kimura but Vann is defending well.
Earthquake not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Earthquake looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Vann is staying active underneath Earthquake, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Earthquake controlling the action here.
Earthquake throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fight stays on the outside here - Vann looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vann throws a leg kick but Earthquake sees it coming and moves out of range.

Vann is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Earthquake.
Vann drops his hands momentarily and Earthquake takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Vann looks for the body kick but Earthquake saw that one coming.
Vann throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A decent looking cross lands there for Earthquake.
Vann lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Vann shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Earthquake to counter with a crisp jab.
Earthquake shoots in for a double leg but Vann sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Vann tries to close the distance and clinch but Earthquake swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Earthquake misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Frank Vann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Earthquake looks gassed!

and Earthquake counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Earthquake wants to take a breather but Vann is having none of it.
Vann holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Earthquake working over Vann with some ground and pound. Vann looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Earthquake is just content to waste time from the top position. Vann takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Vann wants to sweep here but Earthquake controlling him for the moment.

Earthquake takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Earthquake is pressing down on Vann's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vann is holding on for now.
Earthquake looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Earthquake connects with a nice short shot to Vann's temple.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Earthquake uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vann.
Earthquake will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Earthquake counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Vann's guard now.

Earthquake is working Vann over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Vann not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jake Earthquake showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Earthquake postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Vann is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Earthquake, into his guard.

Earthquake is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Earthquake is on top in guard.

Vann working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Earthquake doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Earthquake manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Vann is pulling down on Earthquake's head. It's preventing any offense from Earthquake, at least for the moment.
