Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barthel lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Barthel scores with a hook.
The fighters circle momentarily. Barthel darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Barthel tries to clinch there but Rome circles away.
Rome only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Rome misses with a body punch
and Barthel counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Barthel scores with a crisp jab that stopped Rome in his tracks.
Barthel connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rome. Rome circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Barthel throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rome on the side of the head.
Barthel sizes up Rome with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Barthel is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Barthel cracks Rome with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Rome tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Barthel pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Rome is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
