PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Margarito Sellers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Maridan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Margarito Sellers has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Margarito Sellers seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Albert Maridan!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sellers moves into the clinch successfully.

Maridan jumps guard.
Sellers lands a couple of elbows.
Sellers throwing strikes from guard but Maridan blocks nicely.
Maridan is looking to stand up but Sellers isn't so interested in that idea.
Sellers throws a big elbow that misses.

Maridan wants to sweep here but Sellers controlling him for the moment.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sellers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Maridan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Sellers has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Maridan has passed into side control.

The referee asks Maridan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Maridan prefers to stall for the moment though.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Maridan has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sellers uses from the top position.

Sellers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maridan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maridan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close second round but I would say that Margarito Sellers will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Sellers shoots in looking for a takedown. Maridan tries to sprawl out of it but Sellers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maridan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Sellers gets tackled into the cage by Maridan. Maridan maintains the clinch.

Maridan drags the fight down to the ground.

Maridan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sellers is aware though and is defending well.
Sellers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Sellers pushes Maridan off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Maridan darts in and clinches Sellers up against the cage.
Maridan is trying to force a seperation but Sellers has the dominant position.

Maridan feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Sellerss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Sellers shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Maridan defends it nicely.

Sellers jumps guard but Maridan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

I would just about give that final round to Albert Maridan.
