Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rory Espinoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Zelaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zelaya is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Can't hold us. Rory Espinoza has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rory Espinoza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Manny Zelaya!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Zelaya with that takedown attempt.

Zelaya shoots in for a takedown but Espinoza shows good takedown defense.
As Zelaya tries to get set, Espinoza tries to push him back and clinch up but Zelaya manages to avoid the attempt.

Zelaya closes the distance and clinches up with Espinoza, looking for a takedown. Zelaya pushes Espinoza against the cage but Espinoza circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Zelaya wants to sweep but no luck.
Zelaya seems keen to control Espinoza's posture.

Espinoza throws a strike but Zelaya rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Zelaya is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Espinoza is looking for a triangle but Zelaya pushes his legs off easily.

Zelaya is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Espinoza throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Zelaya stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Zelaya blocks the elbow strike.
Zelaya's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Zelaya ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Zelaya no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Zelaya manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Espinoza manages to get himself to full guard.

Zelaya is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Zelaya wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Espinoza, who protects the arm well.

Manny Zelaya showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Zelaya goes for a double leg but Espinoza avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Espinoza continues to drive forward.
Espinoza is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Zelaya.
Zelaya closes this distance looking for a takedown but Espinoza circles away.
Espinoza is looking to counter the offense by Zelaya and move into the clinch.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Espinoza just misses with a elbow thrown towards Zelaya's brow.

Zelaya takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Espinoza chips away with some ground and pound.

Zelaya is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Zelaya is looking for a kimura but Espinoza is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Zelaya to get the leverage.
Zelaya is keen to just control but Espinoza is a slippery customer.
Espinoza is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Espinoza wants to improve his position but Zelaya is controlling well.

I would just about give that final round to Manny Zelaya.
I've got Zelaya winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A determined Manny Zelaya didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
