Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michael Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Stevens's choice of entrance music: Johnny Nash - "Stir It Up". Michael Kimura has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Kimura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stevens sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Stevens shoots in looking for a takedown. Kimura tries to sprawl out of it but Stevens keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kimura manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Stevens shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Kimura wants to control but Stevens is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stevens slips a nice elbow through Kimura's hands, connecting with Kimura's forehead.

Kimura tries to roll over but Stevens keeps him under control.

Kimura is pressing down on Stevens's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stevens's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Stevens throws an elbow that misses. Kimura uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stevens's guard. Nice move by Kimura!

Kimura is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Kimura has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stevens is proving hard to escape from.
Stevens not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kimura passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Stevens is looking to improve his position.

Kimura is trying to control the action in half guard but Stevens is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Kimura tries to free his leg and advance position but Stevens is retaining full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kimura has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Kimura wants to improve his position but Stevens is controlling well.
Stevens thows a huge punch but Kimura dodges it nicely.

Stevens is thwarting Kimura's attempts to control the position.

Stevens fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Michael Kimura is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kimura dives in and grabs Stevens's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stevens pushes down on Kimura's head and hops out.
And Stevens tries to counter it with a takedown but Kimura pushes his down on his head and steps out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Stevens is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kimura has managed to free his arm - good work.
Stevens thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Stevens wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kimura keeps working.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Kimura closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Stevens quickly recovers to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stevens is looking to get back to full guard here but Kimura has managed to pass to side control instead.
Stevens prevents Kimura from improving position.

Stevens is trying to control Kimura's posture but Kimura avoids it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kimura wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stevens keeps working.
Jake Stevens has got the better of the ground game so far.
Stevens trying to remain calm as Kimura controls from the top position.
Stevens is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kimura asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Stevens is looking for a sweep.

Stevens stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stevens wants it to stay on the feet.
Stevens closes the distance and clinches up with Kimura, looking for a takedown. Stevens pushes Kimura against the cage but Kimura circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kimura drops down looking for a counter takedown but Stevens sprawls and moves away.
Kimura shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stevens as he avoids it easily.
Stevens changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kimura tries to avoid it but Stevens manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kimura to the ground. Kimura escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kimura tries to counter with a takedown but Stevens is quick to defend against it.

Stevens shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kimura's guard.
Kimura is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Stevens enables Kimura to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stevens manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kimura bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stevens's guard.

I've got Stevens winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
