Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aldo Vurny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Bones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aldo Vurny is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aldo Vurny! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jon Bones! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vurny shoots in for a takedown but Bones shows good takedown defense. Vurny connects with the punch. Vurny checks the leg kick. Vurny swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Jon Bones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bones defending well as Vurny loads up on a big left hand. Vurny jabs Bones to the body, keeping him at a distance. Bones tries to score with a low kick but Vurny moves his leg out of the way. A jab from Vurny misses. Bones unleashes a big counter combination but Vurny bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Vurny stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bones. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bones lands a jab to Vurny's midsection. Vurny lands a glancing blow to the side of Bones's head. Bones misses with a hook
and Vurny counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vurny shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bones as he avoids it easily. Bones misses the shot to the body. Bones throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Vurny cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Vurny takes a shot right to the bread basket. Vurny misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bones.
Bones throws a leg kick and Vurny counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Vurny is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bones has managed to free his arm - good work. Bones taking some punishment here, with Vurny in his half guard. Bones tries to roll over but Vurny keeps him under control. Bones regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bones is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Vurny is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Vurny throwing strikes from guard but Bones blocks nicely. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vurny showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Bones wants to improve his position but instead Vurny has moved into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bones is looking to get back to full guard here but Vurny has managed to pass to side control instead. Bones takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Vurny tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Bones is not content to let Vurny control the position. Vurny landing a few strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bones tries to improve position but can't. Vurny content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Bones is looking for a sweep. Vurny looks up at the clock and then as Bones takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Vurny smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Vurny has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bones defending against the ground and pound. Vurny working away. Bones tries to improve position but can't. Bones has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Vurny looks up at the clock and then as Bones takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Vurny smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Vurny throws an elbow but Bones slips to the side and avoids it well. Vurny wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bones, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bones is looking to regain half guard here but Vurny keeps moving and retains side control. Bones looks to move to half guard but instead Vurny has passed into mount! Damn! Bones tries to get back to half guard but can't. Vurny trying to control but Bones is having none of it. Bones tries to hold on but Vurny pushes him away. Bones is in all sorts of trouble here.
Bones is squirming around, avoiding Vurny's attempts to control the action. Vurny unloading with bombs! Vurny breaks from Bones's wrist control and lands an elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aldo Vurny dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Vurny has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bones finds it's way round the side to connect with Vurny's head. Vurny dodges the punch combination from Bones.
It looked like Vurny wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Vurny checks a leg kick. A little feinted left hand from Vurny on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Jon Bones seems to be getting the better of the standup. Bones drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Vurny keeps the fight on the outside. Vurny tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vurny somewhat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vurny fails with a takedown attempt. Vurny looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Vurny cracks Bones with a good jab. Bones throws a right hand that Vurny ducks under and follows up with a left that Vurny also avoids with ease. Vurny seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Bones misses with a wild body shot. Vurny throws a right and a left that both miss. A little jabbing left from Bones on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Aldo Vurny is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bones lands with a good body shot. Bones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Vurny manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice cross by Vurny. Vurny throws a right hand that Bones ducks under and follows up with a left that Bones also avoids with ease. Bones wants to counter the offense by Vurny and move into the clinch position. Bones misses with a body punch
and Vurny counters with a straight right hand. Vurny will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bones tries to counter by closing the distance. Bones tries to clinch but Vurny moves out of range. It looked like Vurny wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Vurny is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bones can do to turn this around? Bones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vurny ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bones moves away. Bones dodges the punch combination from Vurny.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vurny takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Bones moves into the clinch successfully.

Vurny is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bones is defending well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aldo Vurny. That's going to take a lot out of him. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Bones just misses with a elbow thrown towards Vurny's brow. Bones throws a punch but it's blocked by Vurny. Vurny blocks a body shot from Bones.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vurny stalls. Vurny is trying to trip Bones. He has hold of a leg but Bones is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Vurny persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Vurny working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bones's head. Vurny stands up over Bones, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Bones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Vurny controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Vurny trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bones is trying to keep Vurny in close.
Bones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vurny manages to get himself to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vurny has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Aldo Vurny will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Bones rushes Vurny and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Bones can't find room to land a body shot as Vurny controls the action.

letting Vurny counter with a right hand. Vurny takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Vurny misses with a looping left. Bones throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Vurny to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vurny. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aldo Vurny. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bones scores with the left hand. Vurny knows he should have avoided that one. Bones misses with a left hand and Vurny counters with a straight right hand. Bones takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Bones connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Vurny's hands. Bones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vurny was well out of range. Poor timing from Bones. Vurny swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bones shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Vurny was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Vurny cracks Bones with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Bones misses the jab. Bones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jon Bones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bones throws a sloppy body shot
and Vurny counters with a lovely straight right hand! Vurny misses with a looping right. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd cheers as Vurny lands an impressive looking overhand right. Bones doesn't seem phased though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bones takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Vurny misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Aldo Vurny clearly takes that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Bones throws a right and a left that both miss. Vurny drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bones sprawls and moves away. Vurny shoots in looking for a takedown. Bones tries to sprawl out of it but Vurny keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bones tries to clinch and Vurny counters with a three punch combo that has Bones backing up. Bones nods at Vurny to acknowledge the strikes. Bones tries to clinch up but Vurny circles away and keeps his distance. Bones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vurny manages to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vurny throws a right and a left that Bones avoids nicely. Bones looks to land a left hand but Vurny moved out of range nicely. Bones stuffs the takedown.

Bones closes the distance and lands a one-two. Vurny uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bones. Bones tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Vurny counters with a nice uppercut. Vurny misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bones.

Vurny sets himself, and Bones steps forward looking for the clinch! Vurny avoids it this time. Bones tries to score with a low kick but Vurny moves his leg out of the way. Vurny on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bones, as that shot connected.

Bones throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Bones wants to clinch up but Vurny keeps it at a distance. Vurny is looking for a counter combo. Vurny throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vurny checks a low kick from Bones.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vurny moves out of range as Bones strikes. Vurny is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Bones is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Vurny rather than just go for the knockout. Bones lands with an uppercut that bounces Vurny off the cage and back into range. That kick from Bones tenderised Vurny's leg. Vurny is trying to keep his angry face on. Jab by Vurny. Vurny fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aldo Vurny. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vurny comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bones tries to clinch but Vurny is having none of it. Vurny changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Bones throws a leg kick and Vurny counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Vurny manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bones on his heels. He'll look to pass Bones's guard now, I'm sure. Bones trying to keep a closed guard but Vurny is proving a slippery customer.
Vurny sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bones's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bones wants to get back to full guard. Vurny throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Bones regains full guard. Nicely done. Vurny postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Bones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Bones is trying to control the position but Vurny postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close fourth round but I would say that Aldo Vurny will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
The fight stays on the outside here - Bones looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Vurny circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bones wants to slow Vurny down by chopping away at his legs. Vurny gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bones. Vurny fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Bones is trying to control Vurny's posture but Vurny avoids it. Bones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vurny wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Vurny is trying to get an arm triangle but Bones is defending well. Vurny working away. Bones tries to buck Vurny off but Vurny is having none of it. Jon Bones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bones is not content to let Vurny control the position. Vurny working away. Vurny scores with punches from side control. Bones is looking to reverse the position. Vurny working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Bones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vurny. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vurny in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Vurny goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Bones rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Vurny's guard! Nice work there by Bones! Bones's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bones preventing the sweep. Vurny is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Bones wants to pass the guard but Vurny is keeping the position. Bones wants to control from the top but Vurny keeps moving. Bones advances position into side control! Vurny can't do much from the bottom here. Aldo Vurny overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bones in side control lands a decent elbow. Bones swings around for an armbar but Vurny sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Bones's guard. Bones lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Bones is working Vurny over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

And that's the end of the fight! Aldo Vurny showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vurny, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Aldo Vurny decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
