Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maximo Jefe (ranked 3297 p4p, 109 weight class) and Mike Thomas (ranked 3286 p4p, 108 weight class). Jefe comes into the arena with El Jefe blaring out of the sound system. Thomas comes into a darkened arena with his song building. all of the lights kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Maximo Jefe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jefe throws a shot to the body.
Jefe tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Maximo Jefe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thomas throws a head kick but Jefe moves out of range.
Thomas throws a body punch but Jefe moves out of range.
Jefe swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Jefe scores with a hook.
Jefe misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Thomas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jefe tries to clinch but Thomas is having none of it.
Jefe throws a leg kick
and Thomas counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Thomas thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Thomas missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Thomas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Thomas is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jefe defends it well.
Thomas trying to control the action but Jefe is working from the bottom.
Jefe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thomas on the ground.

Jefe is positioning himself well to prevent Thomas advancing to mount.
Thomas working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Thomas stalling away here and it's allowed Jefe to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Thomas is working Jefe over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Jefe has momentary wrist control but Thomas slips an elbow through the middle.
Thomas wants to control from the top but Jefe keeps moving.
Thomas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jefe is keeping the position for now.
Thomas pushes down on Jefe's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jefe is trying to get back to full guard.
Thomas throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Thomas wants to free his trapped foot but Jefe is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Jefe keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Thomas throwing shots but Jefe is blocking nicely.
Thomas passes the guard and advances to mount!
Thomas landing punches.
Jefe is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Gangsterdamage, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Thomas pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Thomas punching from mount but Jefe doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Oooh a big shot lands for Thomas! Jefe is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!
