Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seb Sha (ranked 2784 p4p, 406 weight class) and Clay Mercer (ranked 1772 p4p, 264 weight class). Clay Mercer has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Seb Sha's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Seb Sha! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Clay Mercer! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Mercer. Sha does a little dance to reset his feet. Mercer's jab looks to have found its range, popping Sha under the eye. Sha scores with a jab. Mercer takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Sha closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mercer circles away. Sha displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mercer throws out the jab. Mercer takes a swing at Sha's ribcage but misses. Sha appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Mercer missing with a left hand there. Sha was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A little feinted left hand from Sha on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Clay Mercer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A jab from Mercer finds it's way through Sha's defenses. Mercer tries to move into range but Sha moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Mercer has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Mercer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
It looked like Sha was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Mercer. A slapping leg kick lands for Sha.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mercer misses with an uppercut. Sha is looking to counter punch. Mercer takes the fight into the clinch. Sha tries to break free but Mercer pushes him back against the cage. Mercer has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Sha is trying to keep an underhook but Mercer manages to get the takedown into half guard. Sha is looking to improve his position.
Sha looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sha slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Sha being controlled here, momentarily. Mercer trying to move into half guard but instead Sha has managed to sweep!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sha got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mercer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sha has managed to get both his arms back between Mercer's legs - danger averted. Mercer is looking for a triangle here but Sha uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Sha wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mercer keeps working. Sha scoring with punches from side control. Sha cracks Mercer with a big right hand but Mercer just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sha tries to move into full mount but can't pass Mercer's legs. Sha working the ground and pound from side control. Sha tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sha has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sha lands some shots froms side control. Sha has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sha scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Mercer to see if he's OK. Mercer regains half guard there - taking advantage of Sha's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Sha slows the pace down in half guard. Sha is looking to pass Mercer's guard but actually Mercer recovers to full guard. Sha passes Mercer's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mercer is looking for a sweep. Sha is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Sha looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
It looks like Clay Mercer has been cut. Sha seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Mercer taking some punishment here, with Sha in his half guard. Mercer looking for submissions off his back. Ground and pound from Sha. Sha is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Sha trying to control from half guard but Mercer is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Seb Sha dominated that round. The cut man is working on Clay Mercer's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Sha counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Sha is keen to just control but Mercer is a slippery customer. Sha winds up and cracks Mercer with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Sha is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mercer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sha. Sha working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sha slips a nice elbow through Mercer's hands, connecting with Mercer's forehead.
That has opened up Clay Mercer's cut even more. Mercer on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Mercer is rocked! Sha lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Mercer! More strikes land and this one is all over! Sha jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Seb Sha! After winning the bout, Seb Sha thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
