Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zaine Barr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elias Khamedd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Zaine Barr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elias Khamedd!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barr darts in looking for a takedown but Khamedd gets double underhooks and turns Barr into the cage.
Khamedd fails with a takedown attempt.

Barr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Khamedd gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Khamedd seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barr thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Barr is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Khamedd is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Barr is controlling him.

Barr perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Khamedd is refusing to be controlled, as Barr sits in half guard.

Barr is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Khamedd seems a little lost for a moment, as Barr dominates the positioning.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Barr is trying to get an arm triangle but Khamedd is defending well.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Barr takes a little break here. Khamedd wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Khamedd sneaks out the side door and pushes Barr away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Zaine Barr will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Barr fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Khamedd avoids it really well and circles away.

Khamedd feints and as Barr raises his hands in defense, Khamedd changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Barr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Khamedd doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Khamedd manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Khamedd drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Barr manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Khamedd has Barr in his guard.

Khamedd is fighting to break Barr's control of his arms but Barr is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Khamedd throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Barr works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Khamedd is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Khamedd takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Barr shoots and misses

and Khamedd counters with a single leg into guard. Barr didn't expect that.

Khamedd tries to free his leg and advance position but Barr is retaining full guard.
Barr is pulling down on Khamedd's head. It's preventing any offense from Khamedd, at least for the moment.

Elias Khamedd showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Barr shoots in for a double leg but Khamedd sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Khamedd counters with a nice double leg into side control. Barr won't be happy with that.

Barr is not content to let Khamedd control the position.

Barr looking for a sweep but Khamedd has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Barr wants to hold on but Khamedd pushes him away.
Khamedd wants to control the pace but Barr is squirming around nicely.

Khamedd has control of Barr's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Barr regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Barr tries to reverse the position but Khamedd maintains control.

Khamedd postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Barr badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Khamedd around the waist but Khamedd pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Khamedd is the winner by TKO! Khamedd jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Elias Khamedd!
