Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jospeh Petersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryuji Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jospeh Petersen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryuji Nakamura! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakamura tries to keep at a distance but Petersen has taken the fight into the clinch. Petersen misses with a knee to the head. Nakamura jumps guard and drags Petersen to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Petersen tries to stand but Nakamura is controlling from the bottom. Petersen drops back looking for a leg! Nakamura is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nakamura manages to kick Petersen off! Petersen jumps back into Nakamura's guard. Petersen postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Petersen is looking to work some ground and pound but Nakamura has wrist control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nakamura escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Petersen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Nakamura pulls Petersen in to control the position. Petersen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Nakamura controls Petersen momentarily but Petersen frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Petersen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Petersen trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Petersen postures up in Nakamura's guard and throws a big left but Nakamura blocks it. Petersen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Petersen stands and steps away. Nakamura gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Nakamura shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Petersen trying to keep a closed guard but Nakamura is proving a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Nakamura is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Petersen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Petersen has escaped and now he's on top! Petersen distracts Nakamura with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Petersen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Petersen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Petersen drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Nakamura dives on top into guard. Petersen keeping moving, preventing Nakamura from controlling successfully. Nakamura has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Petersen is proving hard to escape from. Nakamura looking to sit in guard and control but Petersen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Nakamura trying to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Petersen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Nakamura closes the distance and clinches. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Petersen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Petersen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Nakamura counters with a left to the body. Ryuji Nakamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Petersen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Petersen lands in his opponent's guard. Nakamura tries to land a sweep but no joy. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Petersen content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Nakamura has locked up a guillotine! Nakamura's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Petersen is holding on here and Nakamura must be using up a lot of energy. Petersen has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Nakamura gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
