Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandon Henderson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandon Henderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Garcia!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Garcia gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Garcia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Garcia is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Henderson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Garcia should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Henderson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Garcia wants to sweep here but Henderson controlling him for the moment.
Henderson's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Henderson gets to his feet. Garcia looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Henderson counters by clinching up.

so Henderson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Henderson is stalling in the full guard.
Garcia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Henderson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Garcia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Henderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Garcia is trying to control the position but Henderson postures up.

Henderson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and Henderson counters with a shoot takedown. Garcia fights it but they end up in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Henderson has a takedown stuffed.
Garcia shoots for a double leg takedown but Henderson sprawls well. He's pushed Garcia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Garcia closes the distance looking to clinch

so Henderson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Garcia is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Garcia looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Henderson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Garcia is breathing heavily.

Henderson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Henderson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Garcia's guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Henderson in particular looking to stall.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Brandon Henderson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
A head kick by Garcia misses

and Henderson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Henderson slips a nice elbow through Garcia's hands, connecting with Garcia's forehead.

Henderson is trying to work for a kimura but Garcia is defending well.
Garcia tries to get to full guard but Henderson has control of the leg.
Garcia is pressing down on Henderson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Brandon Henderson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Henderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Garcia swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Garcia is trying to control the position but Henderson postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Henderson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Henderson decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Garcia wants to clinch

and Henderson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Garcia!

Henderson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Garcia is on top in guard.
Henderson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brandon Henderson dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Garcia scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Garcia looks to clinch
and Henderson counters with a head kick. That will keep Garcia thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Henderson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Garcia uses from the top position.

Garcia throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Henderson.

and Henderson counters with a good low kick that Garcia was not able to check.

Garcia is looking to regain half guard here but Henderson keeps moving and retains side control.

Henderson decides to stand back up. Henderson steps back and let's Garcia get back to his feet.
Garcia plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Henderson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Garcia tries for a takedown but Henderson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Henderson lands a head kick. Garcia smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Henderson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Garcia.
Garcia shoots and misses
and Henderson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Garcia is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Garcia wants to clinch but Henderson slips to the side

and Henderson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Henderson.

Garcia is looking for a triangle here but Henderson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Henderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Garcia keeps working.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brandon Henderson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Henderson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
