PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ruben Carr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ace Gominoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gominoa comes into a darkened arena with his song building. DMX - Intro ( It's Dark and Hell Is Hot ) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ace Gominoa is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ruben Carr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ace Gominoa!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gominoa clinches with his opponent.
Gominoa tries to break free but Carr pushes him back against the cage.

Gominoa breaks from the clinch.
Gominoa throws a wild body kick that Carr sees coming a mile off.

Gominoa gets the takedown into side control.
Carr manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Carr is looking for a kimura but Gominoa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Carr to get the leverage.

Carr is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gominoa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Check out the look on Carr's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carr lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Gominoa down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carr is putting a hurting on Gominoa here, landing some big shots from side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Gominoa defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Carr.

Carr wants to finish this one by submission but Gominoa is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Carr.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Carr is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gominoa has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Carr can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gominoa is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carr gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Gominoa keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Carr's efforts to push away.

Carr throws a body shot but no joy.

Carr feints and as Gominoa raises his hands in defense, Carr changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Gominoa wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Carr is now in half guard.
Gominoa is breathing heavily.

Carr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gominoa doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carr.

Carr seems to be working for a kimura but Gominoa defends the submission attempt.
Gominoa tries to kick Carr off but Carr keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gominoa makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Gominoa moves into the clinch successfully.

Carr ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gominoa moves away.
Carr tries to clinch up.

Carr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gominoa swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Carr misses with a two punch combination.
Carr wants to clinch.
Gominoa looks like he wants to counter punch here.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Carr.
Gominoa is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
The fight stays on the outside here - Carr looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gominoa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carr's guard.

Carr has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Gominoa has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Carr is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Gominoa is defending well for now.
Gominoa misses with a short punch on the inside.
Gominoa blocks the elbow strike.
Carr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gominoa can do to turn this around?

Carr tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Gominoa tries to land a knee to the head but Carr blocks with his arms.
Carr is trying to break the clinch but Gominoa is controlling him.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ruben Carr will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Carr lands a couple of digs.

Carr drops back looking for a leg! Gominoa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gominoa manages to kick Carr off! Carr jumps back into Gominoa's guard.
Carr is standing up over Gominoa. Gominoa looks to escape but Carr dives into side control.

Carr working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gominoa is trying to work for a sweep but Carr has mounted him!

Carr looking for a guillotine from mount but Gominoa is having none of it.
Gominoa is desperately trying to improve his position but Carr has a good base and remains in mount.

Carr working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Gominoa turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Carr off and cradles Gominoa's limp body as Carr celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Ruben Carr!
