Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Wuzz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michal Filipowicz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Filipowicz is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Duran Duran - The Wild Boys . Filipowicz has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Wuzz! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michal Filipowicz! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wuzz shoots in and bounces Filipowicz off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Filipowicz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wuzz is one step ahead there. Wuzz advances to half guard. Wuzz wants to pass to mount but Filipowicz is defending the position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Filipowicz looks winded! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wuzz has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. This is a sustained period of stalling by Wuzz. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Wuzz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Filipowicz but Filipowicz pushes him off and we're back to square one. Filipowicz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Wuzz. Wuzz obviously looking to wear him down.
A jab from Filipowicz does it's job there. Wuzz closes the distance and pushes Filipowicz back into the cage. Filipowicz blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Wuzz swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Filipowicz throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Wuzzs head. A head punch blocked on the inside by Filipowicz.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Filipowicz is looking to control Wuzz's arms but Wuzz gets an underhook and turns him. Now Filipowicz has his back to the cage. Wuzz lands with a short head shot on the inside. Filipowicz can't find room to land a body shot as Wuzz controls the action.

It looks like Michal Filipowicz has been cut. Wuzz swings wildly with an uppercut but Filipowicz uses good head movement to avoid it. A short uppercut from Wuzz. Wuzz lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Filipowicz backwards. A shot in the inside from Filipowicz. Wuzz lands with a short shot to the head.
Filipowicz is rocked! Wuzz tries to throw a body punch but Filipowicz avoids it by throwing Wuzz back against the cage. Filipowicz is still on wobbly legs! Can Wuzz finish him? Wuzz unloads a knee to the mid-section. Filipowicz seems to have recovered his senses. Wuzz lands an uppercut. Wuzz digs a right hand into Filipowicz's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Filipowicz's gas tank. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wuzz manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Wuzz pulls Filipowicz in close to his closed guard and prevents Filipowicz from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wuzz tries to land a sweep but no joy. Wuzz has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Wuzz wants to sweep here but Filipowicz controlling him for the moment. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wuzz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Filipowicz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Wuzz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Filipowicz manages to get himself to full guard.

Wuzz thuds his right hand into Filipowicz's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Filipowicz tries to keep at a distance but Wuzz has taken the fight into the clinch. Wuzz scores with a nice hook to the head. Filipowicz tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Filipowicz swings wildly with an uppercut but Wuzz uses good head movement to avoid it. A short right from Wuzz. Filipowicz misses with a punch on the inside.
Wuzz unloads a knee to the mid-section. Filipowicz lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Still in the clinch, Wuzz scores with a nice short uppercut. Filipowicz blocks an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Filipowicz. Wuzz lands a shoulder strike. Wuzz pulls guard effortlessly. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wuzz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Wuzz is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Filipowicz is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Wuzz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Filipowicz is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Filipowicz stopping the sweep attempt from Wuzz. Wuzz pulls Filipowicz in close to prevent any damage. Wuzz wants to sweep but no luck. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Wuzz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Filipowicz's guard. Wuzz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Filipowicz's guard. Wuzz wants to pass the guard but Filipowicz is defending well. Wuzz takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wuzz's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. David Wuzz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wuzz continues to hold on tight.

Wuzz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Filipowicz swats him away and circles back towards the center. Filipowicz misses the shot to the body. Filipowicz keeps the fight on the outside. Filipowicz looks like he wants to counter punch here. A slow jab from Wuzz misses its intended target. A head kick misses from Filipowicz. Filipowicz throws a hook to the side of Wuzz's head but Wuzz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Filipowicz moves out of range of the leg kick from Wuzz. Filipowicz moves forwards but Wuzz connects with a nice, crisp jab. Filipowicz checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Michal Filipowicz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Filipowicz connects with a leg kick. Wuzz looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Wuzz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wuzz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Filipowicz swats him away and circles back towards the center. Wuzz misses the shot to the body. Filipowicz ducks straight into an uppercut from Wuzz and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Filipowicz manages to regain guard straight away.
Filipowicz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wuzz looking to pass the guard. Wuzz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Filipowicz can't keep his opponent in guard - Wuzz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Wuzz is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Wuzz looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wuzz is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Filipowicz can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wuzz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Filipowicz for as long as he can get away with.

David Wuzz clearly takes that round. The cut man is working on Michal Filipowicz's cut. That's time! Wuzz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Wuzz tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Filipowicz defends well and Wuzz ends up having to push Filipowicz into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. A little jabbing left from Filipowicz on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Wuzz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Wuzz drops Filipowicz with a right and a left! Wuzz comes rushing in but Filipowicz regains his composure and manages to keep Wuzz in guard.
Wuzz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Filipowicz swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wuzz advances to half guard. Wuzz is figuring out what he wants to do next. Wuzz frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wuzz controlling the position easily from mount. Filipowicz is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wuzz is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Filipowicz to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Filipowicz shrugs it off. Wuzz sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. More hug and hope from Wuzz. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Wuzz. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Filipowicz! But no joy. A jab from Wuzz finds it's way through Filipowicz's defenses. Filipowicz misses with an uppercut. Wuzz saw that one coming. Wuzz closes the distance and clinches. Wuzz with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wuzz softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Filipowicz is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Wuzz tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Wuzz works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Wuzz passes Filipowicz's left leg - he's now in half guard. Wuzz is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Wuzz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Filipowicz knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Wuzz slows the pace down in half guard. Wuzz passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Filipowicz! Wuzz controlling the pace for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wuzz fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Wuzz looking to control and managing it successfully. Wuzz has control of Filipowicz's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Filipowicz regains control of the situation pretty easily.

David Wuzz decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
