Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Sydney Webb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Partho Sobuj!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sobuj shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Webb manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Sobuj wants to control from the top but Webb keeps moving.
Sobuj tries to stand but Webb is controlling from the bottom.
Sobuj trying to control but Webb is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sobuj stopping the sweep attempt from Webb.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Sobuj engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Sobuj doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Webb counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sobuj closes this distance looking for a takedown but Webb circles away.
Webb changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Webb uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sobuj.
Webb wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Webb closes the distance and clinches.
Webb looking to throw knees to the head but Sobuj is blocking nicely.
Sobuj is pressed up against the cage. Webb has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sobuj down to the mat. Sobuj avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Sobuj decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Sobuj is just content to waste time from the top position. Webb takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Webb seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Sobuj drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Webb manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sobuj has Webb in his guard.

Sobuj wants to hit a switch here but Webb passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sobuj there!
Webb really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Sobuj is in a horrible position here. Webb smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Webb lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Sobuj swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Webb is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Sobuj can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Webb's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Webb bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sobuj's guard.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Webb takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Webb counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Sobuj is looking to control Webb's arms but Webb gets an underhook and turns him. Now Sobuj has his back to the cage.

Webb has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Sobuj regains guard immediately.

Webb pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Webb lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Webb lands a couple of good shots and Sobuj has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
