Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Davos Kung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Davos Kung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kung. Kung obviously looking to wear him down.
Kung throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kung looks to land a combination but Griffin avoids it well.

Griffin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Griffin drops back looking for a leg! Kung is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kung manages to kick Griffin off! Griffin jumps back into Kung's guard.
Griffin tries to free his leg and advance position but Kung is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griffin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Griffin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kung is looking to stand up but Griffin isn't so interested in that idea.
Griffin wants to pass the guard but Kung is keeping the position.

Griffin drops back looking for a leg! Kung is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kung manages to kick Griffin off! Griffin jumps back into Kung's guard.

Griffin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kung dives on top into guard.

Kung stands up from Griffin's guard - Kung perhaps looking for a knockout.
Kung connects with a good right hand that stumbles Griffin. Griffin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Kung swings for the body but Griffin moves out of range.
Kung throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kung misses with a double jab.
Kung fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Griffin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kung misses with a straight left.
Davos Kung seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kung throws a right and a left that both miss.
Griffin is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Griffin misses the body punch
and Kung counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Griffin throws a head kick that misses.
Kung jabs at Griffin's body.
Kung's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Kung duly obliges.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Griffin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kung napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Kung wants to get back to his feet.

Griffin is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Kung is trying to escape and Griffin transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Kung is forced to tap! Nice work there by Griffin! Very nice indeed!
